Hi friends! How I LOVE the pumpkin patch tradition we started when Mia was just a baby. Of course back then I agonized over the perfect fall pumpkin patch outfit for her, and then when Sadie came along they had to be matching. This year I threw all the rules out the window by letting them wear whatever they wanted, and guess what.........I still got great pictures I will treasure for ever :) Our cousins joined us, making it extra special, AND we actually made it there at 9:00am on a Saturday morning . . .
Hi friends! I get a lot of questions about how I make our boy/girl shared room work, especially with the age difference. So, I thought I would share a little bit about that today. These are a few BEFORE pictures...... First let me say this room is still in the beginning stages. When I found out I was pregnant with #5 I immediately worked on a game plan for our home. "How in the word were we going to fit all these kids????" We have 3 bedrooms and an office with a closet we use as a 4th bedroom. It has . . .
Hi friends! As a family, we've been talking about a garden for quite awhile now, and some amazing Florida fall weather inspired us to take the plunge. My goal with the garden is to give us a family project we are all invested in, save a little money in our weekly grocery budget, and give me an opportunity to work on my not so green thumb. After mapping out where in the yard we wanted the garden located (I made sure our sprinklers hit all the beds), we went about killing the grass to make way . . .
Hi friends! Thank you for all the sweet comments on baby Helen's room! I love hearing from all of you :) Today I wanted to share with ya'll how I make a 3 bedroom house, white couches, modern farmhouse, cozy minimalistic style work for our soon to be family of 7! Now if you stop by my house between the hours of 4pm and 8pm, you will see a true category 5 hurricane on any given evening, but by 8:30pm pillows are fluffed, back on the couch (from whatever fort they were a part of), counters cleared and . . .
Hi friends! I am excited to share with you baby Helen's nursery today. I am a few weeks away from her due date, and we all super excited to meet this little girl. After having two boys back to back, I have to admit getting back into "girl-land" is super fun! I wanted something simple, with a few pops of color, and of course peaceful. Enjoy! Welcome friends to fall in Florida! The only sign of cooler temps around the corner is the humidity. It lowers ever so slightly and you can feel a change in the air, but let's be honest it's still 91 outside by the afternoon! Regardless of the temps, I am ready for a change in my decor....out with the color (navy blue in the summer) to neutral, black, burlap, white, and natural wood elements. I am opting out of the tradition orange this year, and so far I love the peaceful feel it brings to our home. . . .
It's funny things change over time. I once chose fresh french bread over chocolate any day. Diet coke over water! (That was a brilliant choice), and I swore red would always be my favorite color (so I painted it on walls throughout my house). We moved into our current home almost two years ago. I was in the process of lightening everything in our home and still trying to find my style. I spent house at night after the kids went to bed on the computer browsing blogs and pinterest in search of the perfect look . . .
We have had this coffee table for years! It was one of the first pieces of furniture we bought in a dark wood/leather matching room set. YIKES! :)I first painted it peach????Then white...distressed it and glazed it..... Now it is sporting a rustic farmhouse look with a newly stripped top and fresh coat of antiquing glaze. It took me 2 hours with the orbital sander to strip that baby, but pretty cool to give this table another look for no extra money since I already had all the tools!!Hope you are having a . . .
Simple Light Peaceful These are the words that ran through my mind when I started updating our master bedroom. It is right off the family room so everyone sees it when they come over which means I can't leave it for another day. Plus I have come to realize it's important to feel good about the space where you lay your head at night. Here is a fun little reminder of the journey this room has taken over the past almost 2 years :) There are a lot of little special . . .
We are joining FARE (Food allergy research and education) this year in their teal pumpkin project. You can help all children have a safe and fun Halloween by displaying a teal pumpkin outside signifying that you are offering candy AND non-food treats to those with food allergies. We took one of our old faux pumpkins and spray painted it teal. The boys were more interested in taking all the decorations off the porch and lining them up in the yard, but they were still good and CUTE helpers . . .
