Kitchen cabinet progress

Kitchen cabinet progress

I snapped a couple of quick pictures on my iphone to share with you the progress in the kitchen. I am LOVING the color I chose for the bottom cabinets. It is an oatmeal color, and I chose it because it will not show as much dirt as a true white. Also I wanted to do something a little different in my farmhouse inspired kitchen. I plan on painting the upper cabinets white with some open shelving.   Pretty cool what a little paint can do :) Hope you are having an amazing ... Read More...

Special days

Special days

Mia and I went on a field trip today with her second grade class. What a great way to start the week! She and I have very few days we get to spend together just the two of us. I need to be more intentional and plan more of them. She was the one who started this whole motherhood thing for me after all, and today I am reminded how much I cherish these special days together. I remember so vividly rocking Mia to sleep as a newborn one night thinking to myself, "I will NEVER go through that (labor) again! I ... Read More...

I’m coming for you!!!!

I’m coming for you!!!!

That's right! I'm coming for you kitchen cabs!!! It's MAY, and that means it's time to paint the kitchen cabinets!!! I'm sooooo excited!!! I will be changing the back splash as well, but I want to paint the cabinets first to see what direction I want to go with the back splash. When we bought the home I told myself I would be patient and wait a year before doing anything major in the kitchen. I really wanted to live in the space and decide how I wanted to move forward without making a hasty ... Read More...

What do you think?

What do you think?

So I decided to try something different in the 1/2 bath..... I'm not 100% sold on it. I was ready to paint these cabinets white, and at the last minute I changed my mind, and went with this grayish blue. What do you think? Should I paint them white or do you like it? Leave me a comment on the blog and let me know :) Happy HUMP day!!! ... Read More...

Goal setting and crossing it off your home to do list

Goal setting and crossing it off your home to do list

Early in 2015 I shared with you that I broke down my goals for organizing and updating my home by month for the entire year. This allowed me to relax as I walked by a project or a room I needed to get to, because I knew it was already on the list, and I had set a time frame to accomplish it. I LOVE a good old fashion list, on a piece of paper, not an iphone, where I can check it off with a pencil. Ahhh so great! So here is the list for the year. I broke down each project with the specifics and set a budget ... Read More...

Some new changes

Some new changes

Hi friends! I know I know I have been totally MIA from the blogging world for a month or so, but please know I missed you friends! We have been up to all kinds of things. Wit, my sweet little boy is officially allergic to EVERYTHING we are discovering. We had to get rid of our dog :( However allergens in the carpet meant bye bye nasty hard to clean carpet, and HELLO WOOD FLOORS all over the house! I am so in LOVE! Here they are in the dinning room..... Mia and Sadie are super excited about ... Read More...

Sweet things

Sweet things

It is those little things that make life that much sweeter, like when I catch Wit jumping along with Knox as Knox explores his jump-a-roo. Their eyes are locked on each other. Little brother admiring big brother, and big brother learning to love his little brother. Or when I drag myself up the stairs for the 1000th time at the end of the day to say goodnight to the girls, and I hear Mia reading to Sadie. I peak in and Sadie is listening intently laying on her tummy with her head propped on her hands. Or ... Read More...

Ready for some love

Ready for some love

Hello friends! We are super excited this Valentine's week. Sadie is turning 6 on Wednesday. 6! I am in disbelief. But, it is happening whether I like it or not. I remember being so excited 6 years ago that she might be born on Valentine's Day. She was so close! The 11th is the prefect day though. A great way to bring in the love this week by celebrating my sweet Sadie right before Valentine's Day.   ... Read More...

Day 1 in the laundry room

Day 1 in the laundry room

1st up in the laundry room...remove the doors to the cabinets and start painting! I am using this awesome new paint I found that is just like Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. LOVE IT! Here we are with 1 coat on the left and 2 coats on the right. It's probably going to take 3-4. And just for fun here is my old laundry room in our old house :)   ... Read More...

February goals

February goals

Hi friends! I am soooooo excited about this month of love! Sadie's birthday is next week, and I have a PJ and Pancake party planned! Next up on my To Do List is the laundry room. I shared with you last month I am dividing my house into a project per month for the entire year. This way I am focused, I finish a room, and I can manage my time better. When I walk past a future project, I can say to myself "Oh don't worry it will get done, that is June's project." It has really taken a lot of pressure of ... Read More...
