Guest Bathroom Progress

Guest Bathroom Progress

This is for sure the most used bathroom in our house. It is right off the kitchen and someone is always in it! So I decided to add it to my TO DO LIST before baby :) Here is the before: And our progress: We took down the wallpaper, painted, and changed the mirror. I still need to change the light fixture, paint the cabinets, change the towel rack/toilet tissue holder, and my big TO DO is adding bead board and crown molding. ... Read More...

Sweet thing

Sweet thing

What is it with boys and their mamas? This boy is totally in love with his mama, and this mama is equally in love with him. Little does he know his world is about to drastically change. I pray everyday his transition into "big brotherhood" is a smooth one, however I realize at 18 months he will never remember NOT being a big brother. So it will probably be a few weeks (or months) of an adjustment for mama and her little boy, but we are ready and excited. My world for the past 18 months has all ... Read More...

Thoughts on motherhood

Thoughts on motherhood

It is days like today when I need my dairy free dark chocolate the most. Some red vino would be nice along with it, but that will have to wait another month. Oh motherhood. We all have those days don't we? Whether you are dealing with a stubborn toddler or a headstrong teen, sometimes you wonder if all you do really matters and makes a difference in their lives. "Hello did you hear what I just said???" In my case I have moody strong willed girls who love hard and fight hard, and a daredevil constantly ... Read More...

Lazy Summer Days

Lazy Summer Days

AHHHH these wonderful lazy days of summer!!!! I am totally in love with staying up past our bedtime, eating french toast with blueberries with way too much syrup for breakfast, and playing trains, American Girls, and Frozen for hours on end. I haven't meal planned since summer started, and we are surviving. I marinate the meat in the morning, Drew throws it on the grill when he gets home while I saute some veggies. We have a great summer system, and as you can see in the pictures our messes are ... Read More...

Dinning room chair makeover

Dinning room chair makeover

I started working on the dinning room recently, and first up were the chairs. They are in great condition as they were given to us by Drew's late Grandmother. The fabric had to go, but the wood is beautiful so I left it alone. I used painter's drop cloth to cover the chairs and painted my own "french grain sack" stripe on the back. The project cost about $5 a chair!!! AWESOME right!?!? Here they are before And the after Wit refused to get out of the picture, and was very offended when I ... Read More...

Allergy friendly, toddler approved Apple Cinnamon Muffins

Allergy friendly, toddler approved Apple Cinnamon Muffins

If you have been following this blog for any amount of time, you know my sweet son Wit is allergic to EVERYTHING! Food that is. The list is so long it is easier to just say what he can eat than what he can't. His pediatrician said he has never seen a kid like this in 30+ years of practice :) LOVELY! Anaphylaxis to milk protein (you can read about our experience HERE) Allergic to: Peanuts Peas Soy Gluten Sunflower Seeds Eggs Beans So needless to say we DON'T eat out with this ... Read More...
